Omaha bead Show and kit samples.

Well we are heading out again to the Omaha Bead Affair and I wanted to catch you up on what I have been doing.  While we were in Minneapolis I sold the last kit sample for my Party Pendant Kit, I of course forgot this and went off to Madison without a single sample to show.
I set out to make one but four just seemed to pop up off my work table.  Of course my samples are always for sale, I am just making sure I have one to show off this weekend.

A Bright new Necklace

I just got this new necklace finished up in time to take it with us to the show this weekend.  We are headed out tomorrow for Madison WI, for the Art Glass and Bead Show.  It is a great show and we get to see all our friends and eat really good Thai food.  Do come and visit us if you get a chance and see this necklace in person.
I started the necklace while we were in Tucson so you can see how much jewelry I am Not getting done.  I guess I have been slacking off the last month but I have been making beads every day so I guess I have been busy.
I just loved the colors of this piece together.  And we so need some color around here it is still so winter like.  It snowed again day before yesterday, yet it is supposed to be in the 50's today.  Spring might be on the way.
Of course I had to make a little pair of earrings to go with the necklace.

We are going to Nebraska.........

.........for the Lincoln Bead Bazaar this weekend.  The Bazaar will be held on Saturday October 12, at the 27th Street Conference Center.  The hours are 9-4 and the show is put on by the Nebraska Bead Society.  There is lots of parking and while I didn't get to go last year I have been told it is a great space for the show.  You can check the Bead Society's Blog or you can holler at me if you have any questions.  Do come out and see me if you are around Lincoln.
I have been working on a new rose bead.  I wanted to have them to take with me to the show but I have not decided if they are really looking like a rose or not.  I do think they look sort of carnation like.  What do you think?
Of course it does not help that once again my red is doing it's own thing.  This was supposed to be medium red but it is very orange if you ask me.

Headed to Chicago......

........once again.  This weekend we will be in Highland Park, north of Chicago for the Highland Park Bead Bazaar.  The show is Sunday September 29th form 10-4, at the Highland Park Art Center.  If you would like more information, the address, or coupon for $1 off of the $3 admission please check out Ayla's Originals website.  And please come visit me if you are in the area.
I got a few more end of the day beads made to take with me.  These are some with a little Dicro sparkle in them.
The bottom left one of these reminds me of floating paint on water for making prints.  The real name of that technique seems to have escaped me at the moment.

There is also only a few days left to get an entry into my September Drawing.  Make sure to check out my blog post here for ways to enter.

Work Table Wednesday

Wow and it is Wednesday.  Sorry I have been absent.  I have been working though.  I had a request from a good customer for a row counter bracelet that had the copper feel and clasp.  So many of my beads go with copper because I love it so, but for more than a week I couldn't find my copper mojo.  I reverted back to turquoise and brown always a good combo and found a few.  One of which the customer liked and ordered.  The other three are headed off to Hopkins, MN with me on Friday for the Bead Bazaar.  The show is both Saturday and Sunday and is in a great open gym at the Eisenhower Community Center.  Check the link for more info and come visit me.
I also have been giving myself a day off every weekend we are home and last weekend was playing with paint.  I did some giant sheets of paper very much like this small piece that are for another project.  This was a postcard that I have already mailed.  I really had lots of fun making layers and layers of paint.

Some new Jewelry.........

...........that I got finished in time to take to the Bead Fair in DesMoines.  (If you want to know more about the show check out yesterdays post.)  I have wanted to make these wrap necklaces for a while.  They are long about 48" with no clasp, so you can wear them single or wrapped to make multiple strands.

They have all kinds of little treasures in the strand and I made several colors.  I honestly had trouble stopping as they were just so much fun to put together and decide which bead might be fun to add next.

I of course had to make some earrings to go with the necklaces.  Since I wanted to tie in the seed beads from the strand I made a tiny seed bead flower which is a take off of one in the October/November 2009 issue of Beadwork Magazine.

The earrings of course had to come in all the colors too.

And off we go..............

...................to my first show of the year.  This is what my spare bedroom has looked like for the past two weeks as I was getting ready for the show.  I have been filling up trays with beads just as fast as I could and have lots and lots of new beads.  We will be in DesMoines IA at the Windsor Heights Community Center at the corner of 69th and School Street.  Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 10-3.  The Bead Fair moved last year from the Living History Farms to the Community Center and it is a wonderful building with lots of parking.  So come and visit us as the weather has promised to be nice this year and we will be having lots of fun.
