Thimbles

A couple of new thimbles that I got finished up last week. The weekend was spent helping make some chair cushions for a friend and today was of course errand day. Maybe some new beads tomorrow.

More special orders.

These are some more special order flowers. The customer had the idea to do them this way and I have to say I really like them. They just sort of have a style all their own.
And this is a Six Strand Bracelet kit in special colors someone asked for. I really like this combo too. I am really sad that I can not make another one but that was the last of those size 11 pink seed beads I have and I can not seem to find that color any where.

Fab Flowers

Well I know that you all think I have done nothing but show you vacation pictures since I got home. And I do still have a few more of those to show. But I wanted to show off some of the fun 60's retro flowers that I have been making for a special order from Etsy.
There were lots of fun color combos in this order so it was great as a get back into the swing of things project. Today I only made three beads though and I am so excited I might have to get up in the middle of the night to get them out of the kiln to see how they turned out.

Swimming Hole

It was hot while we were in New York and my sister has all these great places to go swimming written on her kitchen door. We ran so much though that we only got to one place. It is called the Secret Spot. A nice walk in the woods leads you right to this great swimming hole.
The water was way down from the long hot dry summer they are having but it did not detour fearless Griffin. He swam right across the deepest coldest parts. The grown ups aside from me all got wet before it was over.
I don't swim so I found a great place in the shade where I could dangle my feet in and enjoy the beauty of the place.
I did however really think about doing what Griffin decided to do before we left for the afternoon. We had one tired little boy before the week was over.

More from New York

No mom don't hang me from there!!!!!!!!! These are the tools that built the amazing sculpture that took a man a life time to build. He used only hand tools and a jeep to move the stones around.
The place is called Opus 40 and if you click you will be able to read more about it. We went one day while visiting my sister and it took the GPS to not only find it out in the woods but to get back out of there as well.
The whole thing is enormous and amazing and you stand in awe that one man could build all this with his bare hands. And that he could even envision the whole of it all.
The only stone that did not come from the quarry on his piece of land was the monolith.

They let you climb and walk all over the property but on rainy days they will let no one in because the rocks are so slick and that is better than a story drop in front of Jeff.
We had a beautiful day though and while hot is was not that bad because the breeze was blowing and the shade was cool. It was just amazing is all I can tell you.
