Knitting

I have been having a lot of fun knitting lately. First I made the new scarf and then the socks. Well my friend Jodie was telling me about making dishcloths and washcloths. I have had these given to me in the past and they were a bit small so I knit mine to the same size as a washcloth that you purchase. It was lots of fun to do my my husband and son seem to think I am silly for making things you can buy. You should have heard them fuss at me about the socks. But I really like how the dish rags scrub all those ridges are great.

Being so Lazy!

Hi! I have been being so very lazy. But I did get this spiral finished that I started while in Florida and have the second piece for my necklace started. I think after day before yesterday I have all the beads made to go in it as well. Hope so would be good to finish a piece after such a long wait. It is so bright and cheery too.

It was so sunny outside I took the pictures on the back deck. It really needs some TLC from the looks of that wood. The deck paint Jeff used a couple of years ago seems to be all coming off. Guess I should add that to my list of things I should help honey with as crawling around on your knees is one of those horrible tasks we should share. :-)

New Jeans ?

Well the jeans are not new but all the embroidery is. While we were at my mom's she said she would embroider some jeans for me and she had so much fun with this first pair that we cut open a second pair and she did those too.
The first pair has this great flower design all over them. All the flowers are a variation of the same color theme. They are yellow, orange, and blue. Some of the orange is really rusty and some of the blue is very turquoise.
The second pair we did is all the colors of the rainbow and more. And the design is fireworks. Great for July and just in time for summer.
The whole thing was a family affair as my dad took the seams out so we could get them flat to embroider and mom did the embroidery and I sewed the seam back up. Mom said the only problem was I would not let her do the third pair of jeans I had brought with me as I thought I needed a pair that was a little less identifiable in case I have to wear them more than one day at a time.

Jeff's Quilt

One of the first days we were in Florida my mom gave hubby this quilt. I knew all about it but Jeff did not have a clue. I have been stealing T-shirts for years to get this many. Jeff collects T-Shirts. He wears them but he has drawers of them. Any way as he would decide one was too small or I thought it was warn some I would steal it for mom. There are shirt fronts from way back before I knew him and one from our honeymoon, and one from Brandon's cub scout days. He was really impressed and I think it looks great on the bed.

Family Fun !

Most of the time we were in Florida was spent visiting but we did do a lot of eating as well. There was seafood to eat and okra to eat and of course What-a-Burgers and chocolate malts to eat. There was a list of places to eat out at before we ever left home. This was our last night there and we went to a diner so we could all have one last meal together.

And the whole group outside in the sunshine after dinner. That is my parents in front and Jeff's dad and his date to the right in back. Jeff's sister and her husband between Jeff and Brandon. And oh how I like taking the pictures because then I do not have to be in them.

Home

Well we have been home a few days now. Jeff has gone back to work and I should have but yesterday the air conditioner decided not to work. Of course it had to be a record high of 98 degrees when it gave out but I had to spend the day waiting for the repair guy. I just can not hear anyone when I am in the studio the music can even be off and I do not here the door.

So I decided to finish the knitting project that I started while in Florida. My socks. My son and husband think I should just go buy socks and if you looked at these closely you would know why but I am pretty proud of myself as this is the first time I have ever knit from a pattern or knit ribbing or knit in a circle with 4 needles. They are a little loose but that is how the pattern had them and they do not have a heel as they are tube socks but the next pair will be fancier and do realize that nothing will look good on those fat legs of mine.

I have lots more Florida pictures to show you but since the air is working again I am going to the basement to try to finish the ironing I have been working on for three days. I should not leave it for three months at a time and it would not take so long to finish.

Florida

Hi, I thought I would let you all know where we are and what we have been up to. We have been here in Florida for a little over a week. Talk about hot, we are certainly not used to the heat down here or the water that falls from the sky each day. I would call the water rain but last week when I got caught out in it you had to call it a flood rather than just rain. Coming home I drove up a hill where the water was coming down the road as deep as the curb and it came rushing over the hood of my truck as I drove into it.

We are not beach people and none of us really like it out there in the summer time as it is way too crowded so last Saturday we went to the river to play for the day. Some of our good friends live very close and have a piece of land that is right down on the river so we went to have hot dogs and play in the woods. That was lots of fun.

I have lots of things to show you but have not taken any pictures just have not had time I guess that is what visiting does to people. We will be home in a few days and I promise lots of pictures then.
