How fast a week can go!

It just amazes me how fast a week can go. I swear I was just in DesMoines yesterday and driving home. I seem to have let the week go by without getting very much at all done. I do have something kind of exciting to tell you about though.

My son Brandon has opened his own Etsy store. It is called Dilithum and he is making jewelry from recycled circuit board parts. He has been busily taking boards apart for the last two days and he listed two pair of earrings last night. I know he has in his plans a necklace and a bracelet. It is really fun to watch him making something again. He used to do it all the time I still have a pair of earrings he made me when he was about 4. Any way he has a ways to go with getting the store all fancy but go check it out just for fun.

Cyd Worked Hard

Cyd worked hard all weekend while we were in DesMoines. She sorted beads and smiled at customers even when I was all frustrated over my dumb truck which would not start Sunday morning. We had a blast with our friends and had some really good dinner Saturday night. Yumm! I sure do like pasta.
I now have two new batteries for the truck and we have lots of work to do before the next trip out in March to Minneapolis.

By the way Cyd decided she needed more than her bikini so she got a new fur coat and would not take it off all weekend.

We are Ready!

Well Cyd and I are ready to leave in the morning. We have an 8 hour drive to make to get to DesMoines, IA for the Bead Fair at the Living History Farms. I have several books on tape to keep us company so the drive should be pleasant as long as the snow is not heavy. It is supposed to just be flurries.

I thought I would show you Cyd's travel case. She wanted something special to put all her things in for when we hit the road and this is what I came up with.

Dots, Dots, and more Dots

I always like these tiny little polka dots and since I was making things in my favorite colors of the moment I thought I would make some of these as well.

I am almost ready to leave for Des Moines, IA this Friday for the Bead show at Living History Farms. I have to pack some cloths and load the truck and then I am done so an easy day tomorrow. I spent today getting show stuff ready and filling out applications for my summer Art shows. I just hate doing those almost more than taxes.

Opposites!

Having the freedom to use the turquoise glass for the base let me make a set of opposite colors. Makes me think of the cloths I have seen in the mall lots this last year. That is when I have been able to be in a mall. All the colors have changed by now I am sure.

Love This Combo

I just love this combination of brown and turquoise. I have made beads this color before but have been holding on to the turquoise because it was an odd lot now Bulls Eye Glass is going to make it all the time so I will just be sad when I run out of the brown.

Cyd's Ready???

Well Cyd and I have been getting ready for next weekends trip. I have been packing up all the new beads I have been making and thinking about what to take as far as display pieces. She of course was thinking about new cloths. She told me she is all ready to go while standing here wearing her new bikini and I tried to explain that it might not be what she needed for a trip to Des Moines, IA in February. I am still not sure she is understanding me at all. We will see how it goes later in the week.
