Well I am not back to working at the torch just yet but I did take lots of photos this morning and am listing items on Etsy as the day goes on.
I even listed a kit and plan to list more of them this weekend.
My first finished customer kit. Yeah! This is the bracelet kit that my cousin and her husband in Michigan choose to make and look how pretty it turned out. Since they are neither one familiar with the process they really had to rely on my directions so I am really pleased. They tell me they have a new hobby.
I have not gotten very much done today for some reason I have been piddling all day and just playing around with my kits. I pulled all the seed beads to match the lampwork and got all the little parts and pieces ready to go. This is a tray of all those parts and pieces ready to be put in their packages with the instructions.
This is a finished kit. I really like the cute little purse boxes I found to put them into. Makes them all neat and tidy and ready to sell. I ended up with 10 finished kits today and I want to get a few more color combos ready before my first show.
I really liked how well you can see the colors in each kit right through the front of the box.
Here we have baggies of beads. This is the lampwork for some of the kits. I have yet to pull the seed beads for these and there are more color combos in the kiln but things are getting done.
I also got the instructions done and have had my hubby read over them for the grammar errors and to make sure it made sense to him. He does not make jewelry but hangs out with me enough he understood what was going on. Then I had a cousin read them and she said she thought she could make it from what I had said so I guess I am good to go. Now for the packaging.
but these two trays are looking pretty good. I have several other styles all filled up and have one tray still to work on with new styles. I really like how all the colors in these look and the photo was so hard to take and show them off.
I have been thinking about making some kind of kit with my beads for about a year now. I have had trouble coming up with ideas that would work well in a kit. Some were just to simple and some way to complicated or expensive. I finally decided to do the first one with this six strand bracelet. I made a couple of these last summer for the art shows and they were very popular, plus people bought beads to make them up themselves so there are now going to be kits. I am waiting on the packaging and some jump rings and lobster claws but there are some sets of beads in the kiln today to start out with. My plan is to make each one as individual and different as possible so there will be lots of color combinations.
Earth tone beads for my trays. Some day I might feel like the trays are full but I think that is a long way off. My first show for the year is next month and I want lots of new beads in those trays. Of course as I make new beads I want to make new jewelry and keep stealing the beads from the trays for the jewelry. Does not help me get the trays full.
Something fun to look at in the new year. All pink and purple and made last week before we left for Omaha.
