Fall Frit Beads

This week I have been playing with frit. Frit is just crushed up pieces of glass that you roll your beads in. I really like this combination it is so fall like and with the cool cool weather we have been having it seems just the right timing.

Feeling Like the Beach

These three sets have the look and feel of beach glass or sea glass. I just love that soft velvety surface that the etching leaves. The very back set also made me think of ice cubes. Must be because it has turned decidedly fall like around here in the past few days. It is only supposed to get up to 70 degrees and oh how lovely that makes sleeping at night.

Same ole thing..........

is happening around here. I make beads and take pictures of them and not much else gets done. Of course why would anyone want to clean house and do laundry. :-)
Both of these sets were etched and man are they hard to take pictures of they look like they feel though all soft and silky.

New Beads!

I spent part of the day today getting sets made out of the beads that I have been piling up on my kitchen counter. Some are destined for Etsy and some are going in my box for my next show.

Big Lentils!

These are the big lentils that I just love making. They are almost 2 inches across and fit so nice in the palm of your hand. I had a customer at the Brookings show ask me to make sure I had some of these for the show in Hopkins, MN in October. I wanted to make sure I had some different ones for her to choose from so I made several but oh I want to make more I just love making them. They also give me ideas for other beads when I make them they are just little creativity boosters.

On a bad note..... We are not at the Yankton Riverboat Days Art Show like we had planned to be. If any one comes out to find me I am very, very sorry for not being there, but our motel room was flooded (the whole wing of rooms actually) and since we made the reservations back in February there was not a motel to be found within an hours drive. Driving back and forth for three days like that was just too much for this tired old body. Again Sorry!

Coctail Rings..........

are just what these discs are for. I had been making my rings with smaller discs but the new fad is nice big discs to make into rings. These are both well over an inch closer to one and a half inches. I really like the one with Lime Green and yellow dots might even make it for myself. No that will never happen I would never wear it.

Lazy Day!

Well Sundays are for being Lazy but man have I over done that today. We watched a movie and then another one, and now I am playing on the computer. I just posted another Pandora size bead on Etsy and I have pictures to get ready for more postings but for the most part I am still doing nothing. Hope everyone else is having a nice fun and easy day too.

Cowl

Hi after looking at all the different pictures of the same beads yesterday I wanted to show you something different. I have been working on this cowl for about a week now it is going to come up and over the head like a hood or ride around the neck like a thick scarf. I was asked why I decided to knit a cowl. I guess because I had the perfect yarn in my stash and it was something different. Will I ever wear it, probably not, so I will have to find the right person to gift it too, but there is always someone who is just right for somethings.

Photo Day!

I have spent the entire day trying to get better pictures for the Internet stuff I am doing. I went and got 50 dollars worth of new light bulbs only to have them be way too yellow. Nothing I have done today has been quite the way I want it. This photo is close but the others were not really all that good. So right now I am waiting on the sun to come in the back door more so it covers the table I have put there. Then we will see how that does.

Day Two!

Well at least I kept my goal now for two days. :-) That may be a track record for me.

New Endeavor

Well I have been making beads to fit the Pandora and Troll Bracelets for a while but I decided to try selling them on Etsy. So my new endeavor is to list one new large hole bead every day for at least a month. I am really lousy at listing things and twice have let my Etsy shop get empty I am so bad. So wish me luck.

List of Chores

You know I am sure, how weekends get eaten up by that unbelievable long list of little chores that take up time and do not seem to really accomplish much. Like finding the kitchen table and hemming my husbands new pants. Not to mention laundry and dishes that seem like they never go away. Well that is what I have been doing and now I am off to list a few things in my Etsy store. Check out the link to the right side of the page to see what might be new there.

Knitting and not doing much else.

Well I have been knitting dishcloths and floor scrubber's. Most of this pile I am going to send to my son who is living away from home for the first time. I am sure they are just what he wants, stuff to clean with. Hint Hint! I really like knitting these things for some reason I have the pattern down and do not have to pay total attention any more. I can watch TV and even did some of this riding in the car on our trip to the mountains.
The floor scrubber's fit the swifter thing I bought him the weekend we moved him. Now we will see if he learns to use them. I did hear he cooked a meal (my heart stopped when I heard) recently though so all things are possible.

Pandora / Troll Beads

These Pandora / Troll size beads where the order of the day. I made a batch of large hole beads to fit my new Pandora bracelet but I guess I will have to sell SOME of them. I can't be greedy. Maybe I should list some on my Etsy site since my poor store is empty.

Beads Finally Some Beads!

Well I have finally gotten back to making some beads. I started out with these free form pieces that I made to go on some leather necklaces because I needed some jewelry for the guys that come into my booth at the art shows. Seems like it has been a very long time since I made beads.
