New jewelry

I do make jewelry once in a while.  I got these done in time to bring to Milwaukee.  I wanted to highlight this style of bead.
Most of the time I make beads and when they are done I see a piece of jewelry in them, very seldom do I have the idea and then go make the beads as I did with this piece.
I of course had to make earrings to go with the necklace. And just like the Saturn beads yesterday these earrings would not play nice while having their photo made.

New Earrings

Almost as soon as we get back from #thebeadandbuttonshow I have an art show to do. So while the kiln was cooling the other day I made some fun little earrings.

Some bright colored Baubles.......

...........were also finished up in time to make the trip to #STITCHESSouth
Since the Market Place opens this afternoon for the attendees I sure hope a few of you will stop by the booth and see all the new things I have made since last year in Atlanta.
The baubles of course had to have matching earrings.

Some purple necklaces.

I made this simple little purple necklace.
And then had to make one a bit more complicated.
And earrings to match.  All headed for #STITCHESSouth

Another necklace...........

.............headed to Nashville for #STITCHESSouth  http://www.knittinguniverse.com/south2015
The parts and pieces for this piece have been together on my work table for ages and ages.  I just finally took some time to make jewelry.
I just love the soft texture the mat finish beads give the piece.  The stacked blue lampwork flower just stands out.
And of course we have earrings.

A new necklace

I have been working this last week to make some new jewelry to take with me to Stitches South.
I finished up this necklace and earrings to match just yesterday in time to take some pictures to show it off before heading for Nashville.
This one does not have a name yet but some how seems to belong in my Suessology Series.  I think it  is the black with the bright colors that makes me think this.
With a big necklace I usually just make some little earrings and these cuties are all of about an inch long.

A new necklace.

If you are in Tucson this next week you can come and see this new necklace that has taken almost a year to make.  Last year when I was the featured bead maker for the Art Glass and Bead show in Madison I had in mind to make this piece to show off what I would do with the bead.

I will be in suite #110 at the Radisson for The Tucson Bead Show.

Customer request.

Recently a very good customer requested I make a bracelet and earrings to go with
this necklace.  So that is what I was doing with my afternoon yesterday.  I sent her pictures and she was really happy with the result.

Another color combo.......

........in a spiky necklace.  I told you I was having fun making spikes.  I actually have extras that I will be bringing to my next few shows as fancy glass headpins.
The purples in this just sort of asked for some new spikes with added frit speckles.  If you take a close look the spikes you will see the ones on a white base with multiple colors of purple on them.
As always I made earrings too and I think I need to make more of these.

Saturday, August 23, 2014

I hadn't made ........

.............spiky necklaces for a little while.  Then a customer asked for a commissioned piece and I got carried away making spikes.
This necklace hangs a little differently than the ones I have done in the past and I really like how the big cluster looks.  That pop of red in there just had to be. :-)
Of course there had to be earrings to go with.

A new crochet, glass.......

.........mixed jewelry set.  I love these big beads ( the front ones are about an inch or maybe a little bigger around) mixed with the crochet circles.
I think it is the smooth look of the glass with the soft fiber of the circles that intrigues me. I just had to make another collection.
This time I used ivory with silvered ivory dots and turquoise circles.  I thought they all needed to be on the copper findings.
This pendant just called out to have it's picture taken twice..........
.........and of course I made earrings.

Lovely Fall inspired Jewelry Today

If you are looking for the Choosy Chicks blog hop you can click here http://tanyamcguire.blogspot.com/2014/08/choosy-chicks-choose-chicklets-blog-hop.html
I love love love this amber and mineral green combo.  I have made these beads many times and I always have to make some jewelry out of them.
This time I was aiming for enough big almost focal size beads to make one of these glass and fiber necklaces.
I actually got carried away and made enough and then some so I still have a few on my work table.
I couldn't help myself and made a whole series of necklaces and earrings. I made a few bracelets too but you will have to wait for another day to see those.
I have to try and find some more of these post findings I love them so and have had them in my collection long enough I do not know where they came from.
Okay if you are getting really tired of looking at this lovely coppery goodness this is the last picture for today.  Hope you like them.  If you would however like to see them in person I will be at Stitches Midwest in Schaumburg IL this coming weekend and you can see them there.

Choosy Chicks Choose Chicklets Blog Hop

I had so much fun with this project. To have one special bead to work with and go from there.  I knew almost from the start what I wanted to make with it.  A simple boho style bracelet.
I added some of my lampwork accent beads and strung it on several cords of waxed linen.  I can hardly wait to see what everyone else did with their beads.  Below you will see a list of the artists participating and links to their blogs.  Have fun hopping I am sure I will.

Crochet Necklace

This is the last new necklace for this week as we are headed out for The Tucson Bead Show tomorrow.  It is the first necklace in another new series, this one is called Necklace #1 in the Suessology series.  I just think it is not going to tell me a name other than Necklace #1.  Sometimes that is just the way it works.
These new disc beads make great buttons and I just love the texture.  Anyone that is going to be in Tucson next week please come by the Windmill Inn and say hello.

New Necklace

Well here is another new piece.  I have been working on the little crochet circles on this one for a while.  I love making them I just hate dealing with the ends.
The lampwork beads in this one are big about an inch in diameter so this makes a nice chunky necklace.
I have also gotten a nice pile of necklace boxes all painted and ready for the spring shows. I really like how they cam out and plan on doing some more when we get back from Tucson in another color family.  I need to find a deeper box as well because pieces like "Wilma Steps Out" are too big for this box.

Flower necklaces for spring.

As always I had projects planned out long before they got made. This necklace has been planned since last fall and finally got finished last month.
I am at least ready for spring with a couple of new flower pieces.
This is a fun one with a bright lime green and steel blue.  A color combo I want to play more with when we get back from Tucson I think some beads in this combo are in order.
This second piece is in soft purples.  I am playing with a new background and am not sure I really like it with this piece.
The background does however make for nice close ups.
This is one of my double layer flowers for the focal piece.
