Headed to Chicago......

........once again.  This weekend we will be in Highland Park, north of Chicago for the Highland Park Bead Bazaar.  The show is Sunday September 29th form 10-4, at the Highland Park Art Center.  If you would like more information, the address, or coupon for $1 off of the $3 admission please check out Ayla's Originals website.  And please come visit me if you are in the area.
I got a few more end of the day beads made to take with me.  These are some with a little Dicro sparkle in them.
The bottom left one of these reminds me of floating paint on water for making prints.  The real name of that technique seems to have escaped me at the moment.

There is also only a few days left to get an entry into my September Drawing.  Make sure to check out my blog post here for ways to enter.

52 hats created........

...........and delivered.  In August while we were at Stitches Midwest I delivered my sack of finished hats.  If you follow my blog you know I had a goal of making 52 hats in a year and I made it.  I made a hat for each week of the year.  I have to say that I would go weeks without making one than make 5 but I did the 52 in less than a year.  The hats were donated to a group called Halos of Hope an organization that provides hats for cancer patients.  In the picture is Alexandra Woloszyk who they call the Hat Queen of Stitches Midwest she is wearing one of the last hats I finished up. I would like to make a new goal for this year but have about decided I need to make other things (like the sweater I bought yarn for in April which is still in the sack.) So I think I will just make what I have time for and see how many I get done.

Crochet around a glass cab!

What a fantastic idea!  A friend and customer Gwen Blakley Kinsler the Crochetkween visited me at Stitches Midwest last month and bought this glass cab from me.  I had read that she had taught a class for one of the crochet conferences about doing this and just had to ask her about it.  She has instructions for sale on Ravelry which is very easy to purchase from and downloads right away.  You can also find her on her Blog Crochet Queen: Royal Ramblings or on Facebook at Crochetkween Designs.  She also has a fantastic new book out "The Fine Art of Crochet" that you might want to look at it is fantastic.  Amazing Art all done with crochet.  Now to get time to work on the cab I have picked out for myself.

My fabulous customers.......

..........are at it again.  The last couple of weeks several people have sent me pictures of their lovely work that includes my beads.  I just have to show some of it off here on my blog.  Please make sure you go and check out their other work.  I have included links where I have them.
This first bracelet is from Fran Norris of lilicharms on Etsy.  She sent me links to several of her pieces that had my beads and they were all so pretty I had trouble deciding which one to show off.  Do make sure you look around her shop.  (I just found out the other beads in this creation were made by amie3 on Etsy.)
This lovely necklace and earrings is from Luann Gilliland  at LZG Beaded Designs on Facebook.  I love the red and gray together and the mix of textures adds even more interest.
This piece comes from Beth Kennedy and as you all know I love the bright colors.  These are some of my Alice's Garden flowers and she has worked in the great detail of the loops of seed beads.  Just so much fun.  Beth does not have a store but says  "It's a real hit and I love wearing it!"

That is all for today but I  have another piece I still have to show you.  Have to save a little for another day. :-) As always if you make something with my beads I would love to see it an show it off for you.

September Give-A-Way

I am working on a new Series of beads and Jewelry inspired by Dr. Seuss, and decided that these disc/flower beads/buttons would be great for my September bead Give-A-Way.  Make sure to read this post all the way through and enter as many ways as you can.
The beads are different front and back so you have choices on how you use them.
They also have decoration on the edges so that if they are sandwiched between two other beads they are nice and showy.  What do you think, are they Seussy?  I know, I know not a word but I like the thought. :-)

There are lots of ways you can enter.

Over the Holiday.......

.......weekend one of my customers Kathy Adams contacted me about some buttons she wants to try in a bracelet similar to this one that she made with my flower bead in the middle.  I am not sure who the other lampwork flowers were made by and should have thought to ask.  I really think the bracelet is fun and I love the combination of the glass and metal.  Thank you Kathy for letting me show it off here.
